Details of Mukuru Vacancy Positions & How to Apply.

An awesome opportunity exists for a Regional Operations Supervisor to join the team in Zambia.

The main purpose of this role is to effectively support, coach, and performance manage a rapidly growing network of Mukuru Tellers & agents within an appointed region.

The Regional Operations Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Supervisor. This position is responsible for overseeing the functioning of all Mukuru Outlets based in Zambia to ensure they are functioning optimally and in accordance with regulations. This position is also responsible for ensuring world class customer service is delivered. The agents report to this position.

Internal Liaison takes place with internal staff. External liaison takes place with all 3rd party suppliers and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities (Include but is not limited to):

  • Manage the daily activities of the tellers to ensure the effective running of Mukuru Money Transfer Outlets
  • Ensure agents conduct daily cash-ups in the MMT Outlets with accurate reconciliations
  • Ensure agents maintain a constant and sufficient supply of cash in order to supply customers efficiently and without avoidable delay
  • Conduct daily, weekly & monthly visitations, brand audits, cash checks, product maintenance, support and performance management of allocated agents & branches
  • Act as point of liaison in the event of a robbery, theft or fraud (report to the local police and process the documents for insurance claims (if applicable)
  • Ensure Mukuru Outlets are operating optimally and in compliance with internal and external regulations
  • Maintain good relations with site owners and local authorities
  • Carry out inspections on MMT Outlets to ensure they are running effectively
  • Monitor that agent are abiding by trading hours
  • Ensure agents carry out due care and management of MMT property and maintenance marketing materials
  • Ensure agents maintain own knowledge of products and services, as well as changes in regulations
  • Ensure the MMT Store appearance is top notch and brand compliant
  • Ensure agents are suitably dressed and presentable
  • Ensure world class customer service is delivered by all agents
  • Address any issues and customer complaints
  • Monitor the Zambia market and gather market intelligence
  • Report and provide recommendations for business development opportunities
  • Conduct general people management functions to ensure the effective functioning of Zambia MMT Outlets
  • Manage the offboarding of tellers
  • Create and submit all required reports

Key Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
  • Relevant degree/diploma (Desirable)
  • 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role in financial services environment (Essential)
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange
  • Knowledge of exchange control regulations
  • Knowledge of FICA regulations
  • Knowledge of money laundering
  • Knowledge of MMT Store management
  • Knowledge of HR principles
