Details of ACDI/VOCA Job Positions 2019

Based in Washington, D.C., ACDI/VOCA is a nonprofit international development organization that designs and delivers technical and management solutions in agriculture, economic growth, and resilience to promote economic prosperity and social inclusion.

ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking applications from qualified candidates for an anticipated Rural Agricultural Enterprises Development Activity in Zambia funded by USAID. The activity is anticipated to facilitate access to finance for rural Small and Medium Enterprises (SME), address financial service providers’ barriers to lending SMEs, and addresses barriers that limit agricultural enterprises’ ability to seek and qualify for loans.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Chief of Party will lead the design and delivery of the program. S/he will act as the key liaison between USAID/Zambia and all other counterparts, implementing partners involved with the program.

Deputy Chief of Party will oversee the technical implementation of the activity and serve as principal point of contact in Zambia for procedural and substantive matters in the absence of the COP.

Access to Finance Specialist will identify obstacles to accessing finance along the targeted value chains (producers, processors, and buyers), establish working relationships with finance institutions and facilitate development of financial products for rural Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Enterprise Development Specialist will oversee assessment of enterprise markets system to identify constraints and opportunities at national and micro levels in Zambia, lead identify and lead facilitation of services and conditions for start-ups and growth of the enterprises.

Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will lead the development of Project Management Plan and will oversee the establishment of robust Monitoring and Evaluation system, data management, reporting and learning.

Gender Inclusion Specialist will ensure that gender is mainstreamed across the program, including training materials, monitoring, operations, policies and procedures and design activities that accomplish social inclusion and participation of women, youth and vulnerable populations.

Finance and Operations Specialist will oversee and manage day-to-day project operations, including administrative, finance and accounting, contracts and grants, and human resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

All candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in the agriculture sector providing assistance on large donor funded projects;
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical input and/or advisory services in the designated area of specialization in Zambia;
  • Advanced degree in relevant discipline;
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in Bemba, Nyanja, Tonga, or Lozi is preferred
