JOB DESCRIPTION

1.0 JOB TITLE: CONSULTANT – BUSINESS OPERATIONS

1.1 Department: Operations

1.2 Location: Head Office, Lusaka

1.3 Reports to: Managing Consultant

1.4 Business line: Operations

1.5 Level: Band 3

2.0 PURPOSE OF ROLE

To manage various projects and deal pipeline mandates, conduct project appraisal using relevant techniques and acceptable project specific requirements, best industry practices and experiential discretion, and general administration of the business. The manager will also manage client relationships and will be in liaison with both internal and external stakeholders on mandates. Demonstrate ability to take on investment and project assignments including but not limited preparation of various requisite investment presentations and pitching them to investors. The manager will demonstrate strong technological, analytical, presentational and communication skills which are must-have traits.

3.0 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 General Administration and Management

i. General oversight of business operations and management of client mandates across all Concept Pro Incorporation Limited business segments.

ii. Represent and liaise with key stakeholders on behalf of the company, unless otherwise directed and advised by senior executive management.

iii. Prepare, revise and ensure strict adherence to all necessary documentations by client from deal initiation, development to consummation.

iv. Preparation and adherence to all regulatory requirements and statutory instruments (SI) including but not limited to the ZRA, PACRA, ZDA, SEC, LuSE, BoZ, CCPC, etc.

v. Prepare budget forecasts, financial models as well as monthly management and performance reports to inform and inspire short, medium and long term business goals for the firm.

3.2  Business Development

i. Perform market research, data mining, business intelligence, and business analytics.

ii. Contribute to business development by organizing meeting appointments with prospective clients.

iii. Initiate and maintain excellent client relationships through assessment of clients’ needs, goals and remedial customer-centric solutions.

iv.  Manage and monitor business transaction checklists through a well-structured tracker to ensure systematic progress of transactions.

3.3 Investment Analysis

i. Conduct project appraisal using relevant techniques and acceptable project specific requirements, best industry practices, and experiential discretion.

ii. Conduct business valuation for investment decision support.

iii. Prepare of various requisite investment presentations and pitching them on investor forums.

3.4 Business Analysis

i. Interpreting market information and trends for company competitive edge in advisory and consulting services.

ii. Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.

iii. Effectively communicating business and investment insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.

iv. Allocating corporate resources and maintaining cost efficiency.

v. Matching business solutions to client needs and requirements.

vi. Prioritize corporate agenda based on client business requirements, and competition.

vii. Conduct business research for optimising of business opportunities in an agile environment.

5.0 EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

(a) Grade 12 School Certificate;

(b) Degree in Operations Management, Project Management, Economics, Finance/Accountancy, ACCA, CIMA, Business Administration, Business Management or any relevant field; and

(c) Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in Business Management, Investment Advisory and Project Management;

(d) Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL).

6.0 SKILLS REQUIRED TO UNDERTAKE THE ROLE

(a) Strong fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel etc.).

(b) Financial Modelling and Valuation Analysis (FMVA).

(c) Project and Change Management

(d) Leadership and Management skills, and big-picture thinking and vision.

(e) Advanced report writing and strong analytical, communication and presentation skills.

(f) Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously

(g) Strategy development and implementation.

7.0 KNOWLEDGE OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS, SERVICES AND POLICIES

(a) Demonstrable experience in delivering actionable business and financial analysis.

(b) Detailed understanding of business process re-engineering (BPR).

(c) Experience in delivering project and change management.

(d)  Advanced experience in monitoring and evaluation, research and development.

8.0  PREFERRED ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS

(a) Project Management Certification

(b)  Monitoring and Evaluation Certification

(c) Change Management

(d) Project Risk Management

(e) Stakeholder Engagement and Management

(f) Client Relationship Management.

9.0 OTHER REQUIREMENTS

(a) A valid driver’s license
