Zambia National Forest Commodities Association (ZNFCA) is a community service membership-based farm forestry and environmental conservation organization. It was established to promote ecological and sustainable management of forests and farm forestry commodities and farmlands in Zambia by its membership for the benefit of future generations. The association seeks to achieve this aspiration by promoting and safeguarding forestry growth, reducing deforestation, and advancing socially responsive, ecologically sound, and economically sustainable forestry and farm forestry business models in Zambia.
The Association invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who are innovative, energetic and performance-driven to fill the following position:
National Coordinator
Location:Â Lusaka
Department:Â Secretariat
Report to:Â ZNFCA Board through the Chairperson
Period of contract:Â 1-year renewable
Job Purpose
To provide technical support to the association with regard to developing and executing plans, mobilization, and capacity development of members, and providing general management of day-to-day operations.
The National Coordinator will be reporting to the Board Chairperson.
Main duties
(a) Preparations of annual plans for the association’s operations;
(b) Mobilize and prudently utilize resources;
(c) Optimize institutional operations;
(d) Ensure availability of required materials/equipment for operations;
(e) Coordinate activities of Forest and Farm Producer Organizations, District Forest Commodity    Associations and reconcile such activities with those of District Farmers Associations.
(f) Submit recruitment requisition to the Board whenever there is a need for staff recruitment.
(g) Supervise personnel and ensure targets are timely met;
(h) Generate monthly, quarterly and annual reports of operations;
(i) Ensure that employees work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
(j) Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the Board.
Qualifications and experience
Professional
- Full Grade 12 Certificate;
- Advanced Diploma or Degree in Social Science from a recognized University;
- Have knowledge of forestry and/or environmental studies;
- Knowledge in Project Planning and Management is an advantage;
- Must be able to conduct program and project assessment;
- Have an adequate understanding of budgeting and financial management;
- Knowledge of strategic and tactical planning and execution is essential;
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Project Management Software;
Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in the Not-for-profit organization especially membership-based associations.
 Skill Specifications:
- Excellent written, interpersonal skills and computer literate.
 Other Attributes (Personality Traits)
- Proven Leadership and People Management.
Valid Driver’s license
