SUMMARY

The Manager Finance is directly responsible for tracking a company’s financial performance against a plan, analyzing business performance and market conditions to create forecasts, and helping senior management make tactical and strategic decisions by providing periodic reports for Moneta Finance as well as assisting the Chief Financial Officer in the general administration of Moneta Finance, and supervising finance staff. S/He will help determine the best use of resources to achieve business objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager Finance performs the following essential functions:

1. Prepares financial statement summaries and analysis of financial statements as requested by Chief Financial Officer. This should include analysing current and past financial data.

2. Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports such as Productivity reports, Product Profitability report, Cost reports, Branch profitability etc.

3. Looking at current financial performance and identifying trends.

4. Preparing reports on the available information and communicating the insights of these reports to management.

5. Performs periodic analysis of the financial statements to ensure that operations are in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards.

6. Reviews expenses on a timely basis (weekly or more often) to ensure expenditures are within appropriate budget guidelines.

7. Assist in the development of the annual budget and performs periodic analysis to ensure the organization is operating within budget guidelines.

8. Periodically reviews of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.

9. Prepare budget variance analysis and flags to management for improvements.

10. Preparation of external reports i.e Loan segmentation, Operations reports etc.

11. Monitoring of departmental/branch performance, to ensure that reports are done on time through circulation of the finance planner.

12. Review of GL account posting to ensure accuracy of postings.

13. Preparation of the regulatory reports (Prudential).

14. Developing financial models and providing financial forecasts.

15. Keep employees informed about their progress towards the achievement of goals and suggesting corrective actions for non-achievement of performance.

16. Communicating with the branch managers about the importance of performance management in driving successful results and how it is a part of their responsibility.

17. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

A university degree preferably in Commerce and Accounting (B.Com), Business Administration (B.B.A) or Banking. ZiCA/ACCA qualification will be an added advantage. The candidate must have at least 3 years working experience in a similar accounting role. The candidate must possess good report writing and analytical skills. Proficiency in Excel and computerized accounting packages is necessary.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
