Details of Jumbo Wholesale Zambia Limited Vacancy Positions & How to Apply.

Job specifications/responsibilities will include the following:

  • Ensure the packing and transporting of goods is completed efficiently, timeously and with no damages
  • Ensure the correct goods are delivered according to the customer, correctly check order / invoice.
  • Ensure returns are checked against paperwork to ensure accuracy and the correct returns procedure is followed.
  • Ensure deliveries are planned by taking into most economical and effective routes; fuel costs are kept to a minimum.
  • Manage the courier service for all non-export orders, ensure customer goods are dispatched without damages and are on time.
  • Manage the stores delivery transport for all local orders, ensure customer goods are dispatched without damages and are on time.
  • Ensure the maintenance of the local delivery vehicles
  • Ensure only accredited courier companies are utilized
  • Handle stock carefully
  • Ensure loads are correctly balanced before lifting them with your forklift
  • Check items rung up by the cashier against the till slip to ensure that the goods are charged correctly as per the till slip.
  • Count items correctly to ensure that there are no undercharges.
  • Check to ensure the quantity of items matches the invoice.
  • Check to ensure the description of the items matches the invoice.
  • Check to ensure the measurements are correct (eg litres, mls, grams)
  • Check whether the items are shrink-wrapped and what quantity is shrink-wrapped
  • Check suspicious items. Open all boxes. If all is in order let the goods through. Reseal the box, if requested.
  • Assist in order pulling and packing, where possible
  • Assist in loading the delivery onto the vehicle
  • Assist in loading the vehicle
  • Prepare delivery logs
  • Inform transporters to collect the goods when ready, contact the transporter as per the customers instructions
  • Contact customers to expect delivery, give the customer the waybill details, the time to expect delivery and the number of packages.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary education in related field.
  • 3 – 5 years experience in a FMCG environment in a related managerial role.
  • Must possess sound knowledge of site environments and workflow requirements
  • Must possess intermediate  to advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to drive a Fork-Lift Machine is an added advantage. (Possess relevant and up-to-date certification)
