Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund supplies smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms vastly more productive. We provide quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests. We measure our success by our ability to make farmers more prosperous: On average, farmers harvest 50 percent more food after working with One Acre Fund.
We are growing quickly. We currently serve more than 800,000 farm families in Eastern and Southern Africa, with more than 7,500 full-time staff, and we aim to serve 1 million farm families by 2020.
Job Description
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Regular driving
A humble attitude of service at all times to all staff/ passenger
Ensure punctuality at all times and adherence to work schedule
Adherence of speed limit as per road sign and rules
Adapts to any change on vehicle routes
Test vehicle equipment such as lights, windshield, horns, brakes to ensure proper operation
Fix tire punctures and clean the vehicle as and when the need arises
Ensure safe parking of the vehicles
Honest reporting of incidents related to the vehicle or use of the vehicle
Timely reporting of facts concerning accidents or emergencies to supervising officer
Drive the vehicle over specified routes or to specified destinations according to schedules as per the car sheet
Provide assistance with luggage and cargo at all times
Vehicle management
Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, emergency and vehicle safety tools are in order and in good working condition
Adheres and follows policies set up to respond to any emergency related to vehicle use and vehicle incidence
Fix tire punctures and clean the vehicle as and when the need arises
Knowledge, office policy and tool alignment
Conversant with all the Zambian rules and regulation for road use
Ensure relevant safety regulations and country laws governing vehicle operation are adhered to and all passengers adhere to them as well
Conversant with OAF transport and vehicle use policy
Ensure adherence to OAF transport and vehicle policy
Conversant and subject to all OAF employee policies and regulations
Ensure adherence to OAF employee policies and regulations
Ensure relevant safety regulations and country laws governing vehicle operation are adhered to by all passengers
Timely filing of the vehicle log books
Weekly reporting of the vehicle log book and sign off to supervisor
Timely submission of gas receipt at every purchase, within the same business hours of the day it was issued
Ensure timely submission of receipt for any other expenses incurred due to vehicle use, within the same business hours of the day it was issued
Ensure vehicle is used for official use and reporting of any incidence where it was used for other use
Project management
Work with supervisor on vehicle related projects
Provide technical counsel and support to the manager on vehicle projects
Safety and good conduct of all office load/ cargo transported from one area to another
Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications
We are looking for an organized driver with at least 3 year’s experience working in a similar role. Additional requirements include;
O-level qualification. A Diploma in mechanics/related field will be an added advantage
Valid Driver’s Licence
