Details of World Vision Job Positions 2019

Position: Associate Director – Grant Management

Reporting to: Integrated Programme Director

Location: National Office, Lusaka

Purpose of Position

To provide expert and experienced oversight and Management of Grants and Private Non Sponsorship in World Vision Zambia National Office. Provide guidance on good program management and provide quality assurance in implementation and reporting. Serve as the lead in TP engagement for grant collaboration. Communicate World Vision’s Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.

Major responsibilities

  • Provide management oversight for various grants and PNS projects as allocated by the Integrated Programmes Director
  • Lead Grant Acquisition and Management capacity development planning and implementation in the National Office.
  • Lead in resolving Grant management issues in the National Office.
  • Cultivate and maintain project donor and development partner relations.
  • Work with, through Integrated Programmes Director (IPD), and in collaboration with Support Offices (SOs) colleagues, to maintain strong donor relationships at country level, developing engagement strategies for each donor or a group of donors.
  • Build relationships and credibility with donors at country level, using previous success and documented best practices in grant management
  • Develop systems and processes for grant performance management and compliance
  • Working with Resource Development team on highly technical and/or complex grant funding proposal preparations.
  • Work with Resource Acquisition Director and Communications Team to develop key marketing materials for the National Office for preposition World Vision Zambia
  • Build capacity in Area Programme Staff in Private Non Sponsorship (PNS) and grants management and report writing.
  • Participate in Technical Programme Technical Working Groups and contribute to writing and editing of Technical Briefing papers
  • Perform any other task the Integrated Programs Director might assign

Qualifications, Experience, Competencies and Technical Skills

  1. BA in Social Sciences or any higher qualification (Master’s degree preferred)
  2. Strong staff and institutional capacity development skills.
  3. Able to build productive relationships with partners and local, national and international organizations.
  4. Strong cross-cultural, analytical, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  5. Strong Grant management experience with multiple sectors and donors
  6. Good understanding of NGO environment
  7. Experience of at least 6 years in grant management and proven quality assurance skills
  8. Must be well versed in relevant USG, EU, UKAID and other donors’ policies, rules, and regulations.
  9. Experience remotely managing multiple high capacity (Project Director level) staff
  10. Strong leadership skills and competencies
  11. Excellent computer and ICT skills (MS Word, MS Excel and Power Point, Access)
  12. Excellent and proven technical writing skills
  13. Excellent working relationships and management record
  14. Excellent command in English language
  • Work environment: Office-based 80%: field 20%
  • Travel: international as required.
  • On call: none
