Scaw Limited is a Copperbelt-based manufacturing Company specialized in the manufacturing of grinding media, castings products and industrial oxygen and acetylene, that was established in 1960.

The Company seeks to employ suitably qualified, experienced and result oriented individuals to fill up the positions of Financial Planning and Reporting Manager, Business Development Manager and Procurement Manager on two years contracts renewable depending on individual performance:

1.0 Financial Planning and Reporting Manager

Overall Job Purpose

Responsible for managing the financial planning and forecasting process, and delivering insight through management reporting and analysis ensuring that this evolves to meet the needs of the business. Also, to provide leverage and support to the Chief Financial officer to holistically monitor the P&L, optimize working capital cycle, and implement initiatives to effectively meet business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities;

Financial Planning and Analysis

I. Drive the annual budgeting and business planning process and guide operating teams

II. Prepare medium- and long-term Business Plans as well as monthly forecasts – P&L Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasts

III. Prepare planning and reporting for other costs in close collaboration with the heads of function (budget owners)

Reporting

I. Provide monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports – management Accounts with analysis, cash flow reports, with explanation for variances to budget and prior periods reports

II. Analyze cost variances to budget and report to functional managers to ensure accuracy, highlight potential issues and avoid cost overruns

III. Ensure that the reporting continually evolves to meet the needs of the business.

Firm performance in collaboration with the Heads of Functions

I. Continuously identifying and implementing programs for managing cost improvements and/or reduction initiatives in collaboration with Cost Accountant and Departmental Heads

II. Analyzing the business performance to come up with ideas to improve performance and including those as a key performance indicators (KPIs) in monthly reporting packs

III. Prepare business cases to justify capital expenditure and investments in new areas of growth

IV. Leading, coaching and developing other members of staff

Key Requirements

I. Grade 12 Certificate with Five of (5) minimum credits

II. ZICA membership

III. Full Chartered Accountant (CA) ZICA qualification/ACCA/CIMA

IV. Minimum 10 years relevant experience, part of which is at senior level, preferably in a similar role in manufacturing environment

Skills and Competencies

I. Strong management skills

II. Strong analytical skills with great attention to details

III. Self-driven, passionate and enthusiastic to engage with the senior management team

IV. Able to work and learn quickly in a manufacturing environment

V. An inherent keenness to know the business and add-value

VI. Good presentation skills


2.0 Business Development Manager

Overall Job Purpose

To inform clients about company products and services and acts as the point of contact for new clients and their assigned existing clients. Also, to solicit product and service orders for SCAW Ltd and to help secure contracts with respect to those assignments agreed upon with clients. To look for new contracts and maintain old contracts directly with clients.

Duties and Responsibilities;

I. Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings and Lead the formulation, execution and monitoring of company’s business development, market penetration strategies and plans for enhancing business growth.

II. Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives and Develops program sustainability strategies to ensure financial viability of programs and services

III. Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.

IV. Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones

V. Finding and developing new markets and improving sales and Developing quotes and proposals for clients.

VI. Developing goals for the development team and business growth and ensuring they are met.

VII. Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills and Mentoring team members for improved performance individually and corporately.

VIII. Provides Sales, Marketing and Public relations services to SCAW with regard to maximizing its sales to the mining industry.

IX. Provides market trends and advises SCAW, especially when new investment is required to meet market requirements.

X. Offers technical advice to SCAW about mining industry with regard to planning and utilization of grinding media and castings.

Key Requirements

I. Grade 12 Certificate with Five of (5) minimum credits

II. Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing

III. Minimum 10 years relevant experience, part of which is at senior level, preferably in a similar role in manufacturing environment.

IV. Membership of applicable institution is a must.

Skills and Competencies

I. Relevant professional experience in foundry technology and extractive metallurgy is an added advantage

II. Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project Management

III. Good presentation skills and Good Communication and Listening Skills


3.0 Procurement Manager

Overall Job Purpose

To efficiently and effectively plan, administer and control purchases of goods and services to support and sustain company operations promptly at the most economic costs and to ensure that the company has approved procurement policy, procedures and governance; and championing a strong culture of ethics and corporate compliance in dealing with suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities;

I. Plan and implement robust purchasing strategies in liaison with the stores, end-users and finance so as to obtain required goods and services from local and foreign suppliers economically.  promptly and continually

II. Develop and maintain the supplier database annual placing of invitations and sourcing potential suppliers to join the database

III. Maintain preferred and approved supplier lists with appropriate documentation

IV. Ensure full contractual, Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and legal compliance, ensuring suppliers perform strictly in line with contractual obligations and legislative requirement including risk assessments

V. Design documents, supervise the administration process of supply by regulating inputs, ordering and local and foreign purchase formalities

VI. Survey supply markets, enquire and qualify suppliers on basis of price competitiveness, quality and delivery performance, negotiate, re-negotiate or terminate orders or contracts as may be recommended when changes occur to warrant such action

VII. Prepare bid documents, participate in the Tender Committee by inviting tenders, circulating lenders, guidelines, procedures and regulations to members, take and prepare minutes and submit according to the Zambia Public Procurement Authority requirements

VIII. Check and sign orders/ contract of purchases to ensure pertinent terms and conditions are clearly stated, documented to protect the company from unnecessary or unauthorized commitments at all times,

IX. Continuously evaluate supplier performance and effectiveness

X. Provide monthly reports on procurement plans, delivery and inventory for optimum inventory levels

XI. Liaise with freight forwarders and clearing agents for documentation and import clearance

XII. Conduct regular reviews of open PO and requisitions reports and make prompt follow ups.

XIII. Provide monthly cash flow needs for procurement to the Finance in line with budgets to ensure timely payment of vendors

XIV. Identify cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities in expenditure during the procurement process

XV. Build, motivate and retain a strong team.

Key Requirements

(i) Grade 12 Certificate with Five of (5) minimum credits

(ii) Full Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) qualification or Bachelors in Purchasing and Supply or its equivalent

(iii) Six (6) years post qualification relevant experience

(iv) Member of the Zambia Institute Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS)

(v) A deep understanding of the Zambian Public Procurement rules and procedures will be a distinct advantage
