Details of Education Development Center Job Positions 2019
Education Development Center (EDC) is a global nonprofit that advances lasting solutions to improve education, promote health, and expand economic opportunity, with a focus on vulnerable and under-served populations. United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has selected EDC to implement the USAID Let’s Read Project, a 5-year, $48.9 million project in the five target provinces of Eastern, Muchinga, Southern, Northwestern and Western Zambia that works to improve reading outcomes for approximately 1.4 million children attending pre-primary (kindergarten) through to Grades 3 and provide professional development for teachers to support reading interventions in Zambian public and community schools.
EDC is currently hiring a Provincial Manager for North Western Province for the USAID Let’s Read Project:
The Provincial Manager will ensure effective implementation of all technical components at the provincial level, establish strong relationships with the Provincial Education Office and other relevant stakeholders, and work closely with DRCCs, ZlCs, Head Teachers, and PEO office staff to ensure coaching of teachers around literacy.
Selected Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in education or related field;
- A minimum of eight years’ professional experience in development projects;
- Experience managing education programs is strongly preferred.
Applicants for all positions must have excellent written & verbal communication skills in English, familiarity with internationally-funded projects & experience working in Zambia.
