Details of Sanlam Life Insurance Zambia Limited Vacancy Positions & How to Apply.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

  • Monthly reconciliation of debtors accounts and circularization of statements
  • Following up on reconciling items with the customers and respective business units to ensure that the correct debtors balances are always carried in the accounting system
  • Enforcement of the credit control policy across the business
  • Receipting of all premiums and funds that come through the business and ensuring that these are correctly and properly allocated to the correct customers
  • Preparation of Reinsurance Bordeaux Returns on a Monthly and quarterly basis
    Technical accounting – ensuring that the reinsurance account balances both on the Income Statement (premiums ceded, commission earned and claims recoveries) and the Statement of Financial Position (SOFP) (reinsurance premiums payable and reinsurance receivables) are reconciled with the reinsurers on a monthly basis with respective sign-offs
  • Perform on a monthly basis operational key reconciliations between the underwriting system and the
  • Finance accounting system and any other balance sheet accounts as may be assigned from time to time
  • Management of the agent’s commission and operations production report
  • Claims processing and reconciliations of Individual Life Business (checking of claims from the underwriting system and loading of payments onto the bank)
  • Processing of Group Life and Credit Life invoicing on a regular basis
  • Processing of agents’ commissions and annuitant’s payroll
  • Any other duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications and experience

  • Degree in Accounting preferably from CBU or full/final stage of professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA/CIMA/ZICA
  • At least 3-4 years in a demanding accounting office
  • Working knowledge of excel and Microsoft application
  • Working Knowledge of accounting packages SAGE 200 or 300 will be an added advantage
  • Good communication skills both oral and written
